I read Stardust. I'm a Gaiman fan without ever reading his graphic work, but I likewise disagree with AVC about this one. The book wasn't all that great, and the movie wasn't all that bad. There are bound to be better examples.

The Big O
The secret is how to induce that, by increasing my staying power. I get spam about that all the time.

I give a lot of credit to the reply function. Look how many of the posts are replies. Sure, there were replies before, but never so many.

Well, it really WAS funny and startling when my (then-15-year-old) used "zeitgeist" in a dinner-time conversation about censorship and "Huck Finn." On these boards, though, not so much.

Well played, Yummsh and Lord Andre. I chuckled.

Please tell me that Ringo does not deserve his own Yoko. Let me keep my illusions.

And you update the shoe phone gag by having 99 whip out her razr when the big, clunky shoe phone doesn't work. Then Max is surprised, because he didn't know about razrs.

You either find Mel Brooks to be funny, or you don't. Nothing we can do to make this work for you, if Mel Brooks isn't funny to you.

All of them? Including "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"?

Love the list
Been trying to get up early and walk, so's I can be in shape for the big backpacking trip next summer (yeah, I'm THAT old and out of shape). This made me realize I gotta get me some music, to help with the motivation. First, though, I'll need to invest in an ipod.

I never knew
And all this time, I just thought I didn't enjoy "Point Break" because it was a bad movie. Now I see that the mistake was mine. I never realized it should be approached as an unintentional comedy. Maybe I WILL watch it again, after all.

Eh
I never cared for "Jump" anyway. It is a silly song.

Better yet, DaVinci
The comments will never be optimized until they include a spell-checker. For that matter, neither will my brain.

Correction
I should have said, "I enjoyed NT more than The DaVinvi Code." It doesn't actually make sense to imply there's any way to objectively compare matters of subjective taste.

Reading Comprehension
I saw a couple of references to "The Rock." And I agree that NT is definitely better than "The Da Vinci Code."

Covers
Van Halen's cover of "You Really Got Me" may not be better than the original Kinks version, but it is still a favorite. I certainly like it better than most of Van Halen's "original" stuff that came after (i.e., "Jump").

Point Break is a great movie?
I'm all confused over here. What is it that makes Point Break so great? The thinly-drawn, 2-dimensional characters? The flip-flopping between "cop movie" and "caper film," with stops along the way at "mood piece" and who-knows-what-else? The way the plot is propelled by stupid

Writing Ohio
I heard David Crosby describe the circumstances in an interview: David and NY were at a farm or ranch, and David heard about Kent State on the radio. David told NY. NY got quiet, and just walked off into the woods with his guitar. A couple hours later, NY walks back out of the woods with "Ohio."

Trample rules
I never could keep up with the changes in the trample rules. One of the reasons I stopped playing.

There are still shops that sell new MtG cards, so I assume there is still a market for rares and the occasional uncommon.
