I knew Guettel had a drug problem at one time — I hadn't heard that that had played into the dissolution of the musical. In any case, TIME is reporting that this adaptation might not be a musical at all.

I like Broadway, Spider-Man, and U2. That being said, I also like ice cream, scrambled eggs, and pictures of alligators — and I don't think they work well together. Terrific hybrid album
I'll be very interested to see how well the show does. "Whisper House" doesn't demonstrate as much range as "Spring Awakening," and some of the rhymes are a little cringe-inducing, but both the melodies and the arrangements are lovely.

I was a little disappointed not to see a bit from the [title of show] cast. Next year, I guess.
I really enjoyed the show, as well. I'm surprised there's been no comment so far about Mark Rylance's brilliant if absurd "acceptance" speech.
