That seems crazy. PS is his best book, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure where it falls in the chronology though.

Kirstie Alley was really good in the 80s. I was surprised to learn this. It's not really fair how she's kind of been tabloided out of her little piece of comedy real-estate.

Publicity stunts don't melt steel beams.

The 90s were fun. Better than the 2000s. The 2k10s, I'm onboard with so far.

Can't wait for Alex to visit Mailerfest '16!

I've heard that criticism lots of times but Loveless and Siamese Dreams have completely different vibes. They both classics, as far as I'm concerned.

That's pretty fascinating, and it certainly would've been interesting to read that book—but I'm not sure Lovecraft the polemicist would have had the same staying power.

There were several pop songs about abortion in the 90s. Brick and The Freshman, to name two. There are a few more I can' recall.

McGrath has really mellowed. There's a great video from their heyday of him trying to fight a guy in the street who called them Sugar Gay,

They actually had two hits, and the second, Out of My Mind, was even better. I owned that album and it was a lot better than most of those one-hit albums.

Yeah, that's true. Everyone says "this book can't be adapted" then someone turns out a No Country for Old Men.

I hope we never do, unless it's an auteur thing like the one mentioned here. But what a great book.

Someone want to tell if the tone of Moon Girl changes considerably after the first couple issues? I love Ms. Marvel but MG&DD really irked me tonally and I dropped it pretty quickly.

Lockjaw.

I love his IBM User Manual album. I'm looking forward to this.

Was Lovecraft an atheist? I always saw him as more of an anti-theist or… something else, given how his stories portray the universe as deeply malign and unknowable.

I liked his others but not this one. That's ok. I still think this is the best set so far.
