I have a boot of the Cooley show; it's wonderful. I had a half-assed opinion that the July show was so rocking because they wanted to make up for Patterson being sick at their previous performance. No idea if its true, but I've photographed them a half-dozen times and NEVER seen them like that night.

@ unregistered rabble. You are right. I don't actually care if anyone is registered or not. I just tossed that in there as I was still surprised and being called a retard and a dumb fuck for asking what I thought was a simple question.

9:30 Club
I have seen them 6-8 times in the last ten years and their show at the 9:30 Club in DC last year was so good that it made me think they were just screwing around every time I saw them before (and they were all great shows).

By the way Dan, in addition to your stuck exclamation key and your broken caps lock key, I never said Zoey was the mother. I asked for a reason she could not be. Those are not the same thing.

Good reason to hate the Internet # 42: Random unregistered people who scream and call you names because you don't obsessively recall every detail of a show they like (although they probably spend all their time bitching about it) and ask a simple question to find out.

Zoey
I know everyone here decided they hate Zoey, but I kinda like her.

Williams was so great in that …. after that …. eh …..

Best AV CLUB discussion ever.

Craig, Lithgow in drag and Rasing Cain is where you go?

I agree with most of the comments about this episode, and it is still streets ahead of the best episode Two-and-a-Half Men ever produced.

Way to mix it up, Myles! It's almost like having Leonard back …

I think it works on Modern Family because its just a conceit to show the show the way they want to do it. The characters, to my knowledge, have never tried to talk to a camera or hide from it or anything. They don't usually shoot through blinds or windows. The Office tries to have it both ways. They use it as a way

Ah …. I love Davis. He is a little too passionate and a little to annoying, but anyone who has spent any time at all in NOLA (or in the AV Club, for that matter) should recognize him. He's real and necessary.

No one has ever written a more poignant and economical line than in "Old Friends" when a guy in a hotel with a prostitute tells a cop, "I'm sure she is but that's not all she is."

Last time I shot him (I am occasionally a music photographer), I went without earplugs expecting a nice quiet 3 minute acoustic songs with 18 minute introductions like I had seen before. He came out with an electric guitar and a three piece band launched into a wailing "Whole Lotta Shaking" and that was the quietest

I am I the only one
I LOVED this show. Yeah, I agree, not a lot happened sometimes, but I liked enough of the characters (Antoine, Davis, Melissa Leo) and the music and portrayal of the city were so perfect that it kept me coming back. Antoine's moments alone (Going back to New Orleans is always for pleasure or st

My girlfriend HATES Community. We've been together for 11 years, so I can't let it be a dealbreaker, but, man, …. it's close.

yes

That would have been good. And not sure if they've done it, but between the tan and the crying, Boehner is ripe for parody.

The problem with Stefon is that I can already see that fucking movie looming like a freight train in the distance ….
