Alright …. some love for the brothers here! I am from the area so have been watching them for a long, long time, since they were playing a pizza joint here in Knoxville and they are always great. Have you seen them since they added the cello and began switching instruments more? Even better.

AT ET … saw Springsteen about ten times this decade (I just happened to be a bunch of places he was), most recently in Charlottesville, and he was spectacular every time.

My Best
1. Seeing Springsteen play with the Seeger Sessions band at the Plaza de Toros in Madrid. My god, watching 15,000 Spaniards losing their minds over all those songs I learned growing up ("This Little Light of Mine" Ferchristsake) showed me something powerful about the idea of America that I still cannot put

As a huge Redskins, Nationals and Wizards fan, I want to point out that this is an entertainment site and we shouldn't be talking about sports.

i didn't read the book so that may have made it fresher for me. The book ending does sound more intriguing.

Fucking hell yeah

Maybe Lone Tom, that's how it goes. We'll never see a superhero franchise carried into a third installment because so much money/ego/power gets tied up in it at that point that it implodes. A director leaves, a star leaves, the studio interferes too much but something always happens.

Seconded …. I really expected this to be top five. It might be number 1 for me, just a stunning film.

Agreed … it has the common problem (often seen in Will Ferrel movies) of a great first half and then a rapid fall as the filmmakers spend the second half servicing a story that no one cares about. As the clubbers noted, if this had been a straight religious satire, it would have been top five.

Seconded …. i enjoyed it when i saw it. I thought the leads were great. But, two weeks later I remembered absolutely nothing about it. And, I mean nothing…. A bunch of twists? Some kind of law firm?

Well, unfortunately there was a lot of "Everyone who disliked Hillary is a sexist" from her camp. And, for the record, I like Hillary a lot, except during that campaign. The woman who ran for office was emphatically not the same person I saw for a decade before, which is the same problem that Gore and Kerry both had.

I'll concede most of the Traver's points. My point was just that I don't think he is execrable. he's a middle of the road reviewer in a middle of the road magazine. As someone who doesn't spend much time in the states until recently, I'd love to hear where I can find some of these other critics.

I think you guys are coming down a bit hard on Travers. Juanito's complaint that he always makes the same points is certainly valid. However, I am willing to guess that he hated most of the shit on this list, although I haven't checked. I do recall him slamming the hell out of Transformers and the Ugly Truth and Bride

Whatever the Skoog …. i see what you did there.

Wow … spartans came out in Jan 08 and Epic in 07. See how long that crap sticks in the head.

Spoofs
None of those fucking spoof movies made the list? I don't remember which ones were this year but Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie …. there must have been a dozen.

I think you are missing the point. They didn't need to bust the religious right in the writing BECAUSE the animation was s o ace. By using such a literal depiction of everything in the book of Revelations (well, not everything, the whole book is so batshit insane that even that ep couldn't get it all) and mixing it

I was reading your post thinking … "what the fuck? Family Guy? really?" Then i read your second post. I concur sir. FG just blows now but that American Dad was the best thing I have seen on TV in years.

Also, best use !!!

Didn't Panic! drop the ! also?
