Tony Joe White, Boz (for Loan Me a Dime alone) and Hall.

I saw them twice during the eighties and am not the least bit ashamed of it. Some of their stuff was overproduced sure, but there were always great songs at the heart of it and that live band, with G.E. Smith and T-Bone Wolk … well, that was one damn fine band.

You've really got the metod of the modern firstie ….ah fuck it. I'll take your canceraidsfire. That was a well played firstie.

I saw them open for the police at Dodger Stadium and they blew them off the stage. The Police were fine, played the songs, yah-hoo but no showmanship or sense ofocasion. Grohl …. wow. Screamed his ass off, ran through the crowd and jumped a fence to play on the pitcher's mound. I wasn't to into them befor ethat, but

@Buck-toothed girl. If you like TVA, there is another great song by a (recently broken up and much lamented) local group here in Knoxville called the Everybody Fields. At first, I thought the truckers had covered it as it is fairly famous around here and I know they know each other. Alas, not the same song but if you

My bad! It does, indeed, say contains and I stand abashed and ashamed.

Released?
BTW, NOel, a couple of these have definitely been released. The Dylan cover was on one of those free CDs that comes with the British music mags (Word or Uncut).

I saw them play with the Avett Brothers in Charlottesville last year and they kicked some serious ass. The Brothers were so great that I thought the Truckers couldn't keep up and they started off a bit slow, but once they got going, look out. Ended with a 1,2,3, of Let There Be Rock, 18 Wheels of Love and People who

Well, Stallworth hit a guy after having a beer too many but the guy was jaywalking and Stallworth was driving into the sun and may ahve done it sober. That doesn't excuse it but I think most of us have probably made a bad decision and jsut got lucky that it wasn't us. Loss of employment for a year is a pretty stiff

In my 15 years in Italy and 10 since with my Italian girlfriend, I have never, ever, ever seen garlic, pepper flakes or white wine in carbonara. It's like she took carbonara and spaghetti aglio e olio and kind of mashed them together and it is an abomination.

Best…character….poster….EVER.

There is also a nice exhibit at the Rock Hall of Fame in cleveland.

Wow…. this is sudden
I jjust came back from NY and he was still playing and telling jokes at the Iridium. Larry Coryell sat in with him on the 31st. $50 cover and $15 per set and worth every penny. What a damn shame.

I've got a Goldtop that I alternate between wanting to leave for my son and wanting to be buried with.

I am ashamed to admit that I actually saw LOTR in London (in a full house actually so there are other idiots). My god.

Do you really want to put that idea out in the ether for just anyone to pcik up? perhaps this Spider-man musical wasn't so bad. Better the devil you know and all that.

Monique Gabrielle (whose centerfold in bootss was one of my first Playboy's also) in Bachelor Party? Until her head turned into someone else's ….

I posted this above, but I'll repeat here. No one knows what goes on in a band except the people in it. There is a unique thing that comes fromt he personalities and interactions, not just what they play. They may be able to replace his drumming, but they obviusly couldn't replace his presence int he studio because

Thank you Hellsbells …. I have always thought that i was pretty lucky in my lifetime to have seen two bands (I know U2 doesn't get the love here in AV land but I stand by it) put out such long strings of great records. For me, U2 gets it from their debut to Pop (inclusive), all solid A work and REM from Chronic Town

I love Murmer and Chronic Town both, but I have to admit I really prefer to be able to understand what Stipe is singing.
