I think Capaldi is much, much better than Gorman was in first series. Maybe it's because every time Gorman was onscreen I was reminded of Torchwood and how terrible his character was there and how terrible that show ended up being(save for the 3rd series which featured…hey! Peter Capaldi!).

Yes. I only hated maybe one character on that show whereas the only characters I didn't hate on The Newsroom were the ones the show wanted us to hate. (Also, Olivia Munn's character, who I expected to hate but didn't.)
