I gave it another shot later in its 1st season. An episode everyone praised as one of its best. Probably the least funny and most annoying things I watched all year. Maybe I'll give it another shot later next year.

I always hear people excusing Dexter's (over)use of it terrible supporting characters and their go-nowhere storylines by saying, "Well, Michael C. Hall can't work 24/7." But, he could if it were a half hour show.
