That's exactly what came to mind when I saw the headline. Deadwood was getting almost 2 1/2 million viewers each week in its final season whereas this didn't even reach 1 million.

As a stand-alone film, I think Alien 3, especially the extended version, is very good. But as a franchise film, it fails horribly.
