Like I don't get how you can't say "his music is fucking garbage" and "I haven't heard any of his albums" in the same breath.

Uh I think I can guarantee you that everyone who calls him a genius or whatever has heard at least one of his albums. So if you actually want an answer to your question that'd be a good place to start.
Which albums have you heard?
because lots of us don't think his music is fucking garbage. Sorry I guess we thought that was kind of obvious
Nah pretty serious. As far as I'm concerned he's up there with any of the great musicians over the last few hundred years.
Can't say I'm familiar with his solo work. Aren't they just movie soundtracks?
If you're that easy to please, why wouldn't you like kanye?
Yeah, I remember when there were guitars and shit. Those were the days, back when music was real. Fuck autotune! Justin Bieber has more likes than this.
I dunno, maybe because he's the greatest musician in at least the last twenty years?
welp, I guess that's that.
which brings us back to my question: what are you getting at here?
hey, cheers
Kanye and Jay-Z = hardcore rap
I understand what you mean, although I don't know enough about hip hop to be able to point to any direct antecedents to MBDTF or Yeezus (I don't buy the notion that, say, Yeezus is a Death Grips ripoff) - but at least for myself I don't care about any of that, I just think they're both pieces of really good music,…
I guess I meant to say that I'm completely confused by what you're trying to get at by saying that here.

Is "Lou Reed is a hack" seriously a thing? The guy was behind all of the Velvet Underground albums…
I thought you meant that you don't get what other people love about it, not just that you don't like it.
And don't even get me started on "The Legion of the Condemned"!
Have you read Lou Reed's review?
