Glover's chest was a surprise!

It seems like a lot of people liked this episode.  So perhaps the backlash-to-the-backlash has begun?  (Either that or the tiny possibility that Todd and the other critics with screeners of episodes 4x1 and 4x3 groupthinked themselves into a sky-is-falling-without-Harmon tizzy…)

Yeah, they have been doing the name-rhyming thing since "The Art of Discourse" at the end of Season 1(!): "Hey Britta, what you gonna knit-ta?", and my personal favorite in Season 2 where thy rhyme-check Harvey Keitel and Henry David Thoreau.  Heck, someone complied all the clips on YouTube last spring, so it's hardly

"This episode felt like the series know what it is these days, and it asks us to accept it for who it is. " I completely agree with this assessment, this episode felt far more assured & confident than the first two.

Agreed - I thought it had a relaxed vibe that let me enjoy the show as opposed to being highly attuned for differences in performance and execution in the Post-Harmon Era. (That could be more a reflection of me getting used to Community 2.0.)  At the end of the day it comes down to: I love seeing these actors play

I did too.  Whatever his off-screen difficulties, I've always enjoyed Chase's portrayal of Pierce as someone who desperately wants to be apart of whatever the main crowd is doing.

""Mrs. Winger" was out of character, and realllly creepy" - I completely disagree that it was out of character.  Annie has always had a streak of trying on an identity for fun and playacting it a little to long (see: her southern persona in "Advanced Mixology", the break-in ruse in "Foosball & Nocturnal

I am kind of amazed the writers couldn't have made room for a decent Astrid-centric episode this year.  (Even with the shortened season there have still been a couple of filler episodes that could have been sacrificed for one.)

He most definitely called it 'Crowtein' and it was glorious.

Nothing wrong with Annie grabbing her big break at all.  She is just another example of the dilemma New Orleans musicians face as explained by Delmond's label rep last week: if they want to be known they have to tour/work nationally/internationally and frequently be away  from New Orleans which is the inspiration for

I don't think Annie has been portrayed negatively either: she is putting in the hard work without complaint.

I think Treme/Treme-cast's only hope for awards recognition is submitting in the Emmy Outstanding Miniseries/Movie category in 2014 when they will be coming off a 5 episode swan song.  Of course the mini-season will have aired a full 9+ months before the nominations and the show will be 2nd or 3rd in line to whatever

I thought she was living with her grandmother in Florida and going to whatever local highschool was adjacent?

When I saw the 1st Season, I put it in the "wish I loved it, but I only like/admire it" category.  Season 2 got its hooks in me, and I have adored Season 3: it's been a real treat watching all the far flung characters get to know each other and interact as the episodes have gone on.
