Hmm. Yeah, sounds like these games are definitely not your thing. Fair enough.

Sure. And at no point am I asserting that Tolkein was a racist, that his work was racist, or that its adaptations are racist.

Sure, that's a valid perspective and worth examining.

Man, you hate these games a lot.

Well, that's exactly my point. In the books (and a little bit in one of the extended editions) they clarify and expand on these points. As I said, a lot more subtle and complicated.

… you stupid Chief!

I doubt I'm your type—tall with a long auburn beard. Also: straight. Thanks for the offer, though.

An open question, especially considering how often Joker/Penguin et al. kill them. There seems to be very little upside to a low-level life of crime in Gotham.

Sure, the whole concept of costumed heroes is silly and doesn't translate well to life.

Sure. I like character development. I just didn't find teen Terry interesting—as Amanda Waller bluntly points out to him, he's just not very bright.

Aw, you don't like making rafts out of ice/glue and pulling yourself along like a ferryman?

Yeah, Asylum went back to the Titan well a little too often.

Well, it's not that bad for me. As far as I'm concerned the writers just overreached, and in their eagerness for symbolic resonance they designed a sequence that was, at face value, pretty stupid.

The movie adaptations, great as they were, have a bit to answer for there. The third movie sure looked like "Good Europeans" vs. "Orcs + Dusky Foreigners".

Where he snaps a rifle in two with his bare hands.

I'm pretty conflicted about the Harley redesign in City. It's super-duper male gazey, and turns Harley from a mischievous pixie into a clown-sex kitten. Which is less than the character deserves.

Sure. And I'm not objecting to them being beautiful or sexy. It's a comic book universe, after all.

That's fair.

Don't know if I agree with that … some of them I enjoy quite a bit. Mr Freeze, Ivy and the Joker himself seem like darn good 3D renderings of comic characters, and I quite liked the pre-Venom Bane.

Sure, I can get behind that.
