Yer goddamned right they were. They couldn't get enough of our steak fingers and baked potatoes.

Crazy. I'm assuming you also own that Starball Contribution record..? That one and a variety of T&N samplers introduced me to a lot of new stuff.

I don't think I've ever detected a Mark Kozelek vibe but now I feel like I'll be listening for it.

Okay, there used to be a column on the AV Club, like, eight years ago called "Say Something Funny" where the AV Club asked comedians one question: "What is funny?" Maria gave this amazingly funny and melancholy response (as did another comedy duo who did this one about "monkeying around") and I can't find it anywhere.

I feel like there's a big "Frosting on the Beater"- shaped hole in this list.

And I give your review of my review a C- because I guess that's what we're doing now.

hm
This seems like kind of a tossed off review. (Especially considering Bazan's talents as a lyricist and the unique maybe-a-Christian-maybe-not-but-I-hate-church-but-I-have-a-lot-of-fond-Vacation-Bible-School-memories following he's accrued). Feels a little like the reviews from six years ago when critics would say,

Ahem
You've included a Scream and Avatar movie and left out Craig Thompson's HABIBI and David Bazan's "Strange Negotiations." Asinine.

Also…
I think he does a pretty decent job in comparison to the "other Adams." (I'm referring, of course, to Ansel and/or George Rufus).
