Is it? Good. The trailer made it look like it had really broad humor, enough to be a turnoff.

@avclub-884c4beddd8c98bb3b016bdfcc1bcdf8:disqus I wasn't making any judgement on SMG, just quoting the friction. You left out the relevant part of that paragraph, which is:
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I was excited for it, then I saw a preview clip that appeared to be shot in shakeycam. I'm hoping that whoever chose the clip just has the worst taste ever and the rest isn't like that. I really, really, really hate shakeycam.
The only friction I've read about that was from a credible source (David Fury) was that Joss wanted her to make an appearance on Angel S5 and she wouldn't. (The episode with Cordelia, the show's 100th episode, was originally supposed to be a different story with Buffy.) The way he put it, there was a mutual feeling…
Get your hands off Willow, you skank!
He's always been a good dramatic actor, IMHO. He was good in What Dreams May Come and Insomnia, anyway. It's his comedy that's insufferable.
@avclub-7194d12c6b5c71da581f8c34e6432846:disqus Eliza Dushku was good as Buffy-as-Faith, too. Maybe they just need a few years' practice to get into roles.
No. Shame really. She was a superhot little redhead.
It'd be even more difficult to use the comics version of Spike, who is now the captain of an airship piloted by giant bugs that worship him as a god, yes really.
I'm surprised this still needs to be pointed out. It says it right in the article.
We had an entire season of her training new slayers and look how that went.
It actually did stop Tara from returning, because Amber Benson refused to reprise the role. They wanted her to come back for Conversations with Dead People.
I've always had the very clear sense that if there was a movie, it would be about Buffy as a single mother. That's the most natural place for it to go. Also, Dawn lives in Japan. No, farther. Bejing.
They were good when it first started, when Joss and the other writers from the show (Jane Espenson was one, I forget the others) were writing them. The issues by Joss in particular are great. They capture the voice of the show perfectly. But as soon as that ended, they became terrible.
Season 7 was dire, and at the time, it looked like SMG would have a movie career. Honestly I would have left too. Another season under the melodramatic reigns of Marti Noxon might have tarnished the show permanently.
I was mostly kidding about Big Bird (mostly, though going after public television and radio did piss me off more than a lot of issues that should have pissed me off).
I counted 15 seconds of credits. They start at exactly :35.
I think "the prospects of a DVD release are bleak" would mean that its release is in question, but "the DVD release" implies that the release exists.
I agree 100%. I should have said "good for season 4". It can't compare to any decent+ episode from seasons 1-3.
