Hunter is David Chase's daughter.  No way is she dancing around in her underwear.  (Not really much of a spoiler) she will turn up one more time.

Having Junior shoot Tony is a great way to have him relive the trauma of having a parental figure try and kill him from season one.  Melfi can't force him to confront it but Junior sure does.  Tony gets a chance to try it again:  he can either finally break the cycle he inherited from his mother or he can inflict it

Vick, shouldn't you be off whining about Luck somewhere?

Actually Audre Lorde said you can't dismantle the master's house with the master's tools.  I bet a Colbert interview with Lorde would have been interesting though.

When he murders Christopher he's moved past the point of redemption by essentially becoming Livia. Given a chance at redemption in 6A he fails spectacularly at it in 6B.

Okay…most of this was covered up above.  I need to learn to type faster…..

I always thought it was a nice touch Valentina makes Tony egg beaters with tobasco.  If eggs are a symbol for the soul then an egg substitute is a nice way to point to the inherent moral failings in Tony's.  Adding hot sauce throws in a little bonus hell imagery. Tony even has a callback to Carmine's last words ("I

I remember a year or so ago he had Claire Danes on and found out her father-in-law was a famous philosopher (Hugh Dancy's father - Jonathan).  He seemed genuinely intrigued by this and said they'd have to get him on the show.  I figured this was typical host talk but a few weeks later there he was and Craig spent the

Actually I think (aided by having CC on) the commodore said "Show him your cunt."  Certainly more in line with the Commodore we all know and love.

I like Jimmy too.  But I also like how out of his league he is.  It's kind of nice to have an antagonist that's not an evil genius.

The biggest problem with 6A is that they could never write for characters not in the Soprano world (with the exception of course of Melfi and to a lesser extent Kupferberg).  Stick Vito - not an overly compelling character to begin with - alone with a bunch of New Englanders and you've gone too far afield.

That closing shot in "Kaisha" is one of the most unsettling in the whole series for me.  No one looks happy or comfortable and the way the camera pulls out between the two columns just isolates the whole group in their collective self-delusion of a wonderful home.  It really gives the impression of a curtain falling

Yeah I have to agree - Tony being saved is definitely season 6A.  Season 5 is about the decisions Tony has to make to be an effective leader.  In Chase's own words the season was about "the limitations of family relationships and friendships in a materialist world." The show makes it very clear that the correct moral

There's a really old Space Ghosts in which he interviews Judge who does both Tom and Hank saying the same line.  The joke of course is that it's exactly the same voice.  After all this time no reason to think he'd start trying to differentiate them.

The Maple Art I'm pretty sure used to be a bank.  You can see the drive-up teller lanes still there.  I saw "A Serious Man" there and was by far the youngest person in the crowd (and I'm not young).  The concession stand had a Senior Citizens combo deal.

I didn't know Carmela's father had died.  I haven't heard Chianese in any interviews lately and given that he's 80 I was probably a little overly-optimistic in my original prediction.  Damn - now I'm just depressed.

I assume he's showing up because he'll wind up as a major player in the second half of the season.  Either that or he blew all his Sopranos money on hookers and blow and Terrence Winter is just doing him a favor.  Hmm - given that they occasionally trust Carmela's dad with a few lines and Uncle June hasn't opened his

…taking her first to see “The Man of La Mancha” (anyone from the Detroit area care to hazard a guess where the hell that film would’ve been playing?)

Not to be pedantic but the actual title is "Gimcrack and Bunkum."  George and Ira say thanks though.

Was pretty sure this would be the response.  Lilly of the Valley is like giving the kid a few extra children's Tylenol   No way it's in any way equivalent with giving a kid ricin.
