This was an interesting piece on Depp and Mortdecai, but I was hoping you would delve more into why it's a FLOP. Plenty of godawful movies are actually very big "hits." Some juicy detail on how so many true box office stars, generally positive themes, the marketing campaign disasters and such would really flesh this

Although really when you're surrounded by the scene chompers of Depp and Rush, how else can you play it? When you've only been given 5 minutes of screentime just to be an antagonizer in between their antics?

As much of this show is about who you are and connecting in the world around you, and using prison as a way to zoom in and out to tell important stories- Chang's to me is the story of someone who has always known she isn't really "there" to most people and, rather than angst forever and work against it, she simply

I believe one of the best aspects of this show is how it never flinches from asking the question of "deserve" and how arbitrary it can really be who is on which side of the metal detector.

I don't consider it boring, but I did consider it cliche, overwrought and ludricous, even for a world where genetic dinos are a thing. I wasn't bored, but I was irked.

I mentioned before, I believe they did it to satisfy the audience expectations/desire for the sea dino to have a "real hunt" and thus be "surprised" when they get it again in the finale. But as noted, the character was so badly done and existed solely to suit the plot, it just was gross.

Not in the same league at all, but Disclosure deserved and honorable mention in the precursor category.

It was fairly established just how much a team they were before the duel and the king noted her daughters being his favorites. She had a decent cache.

Uh, hi! More my mom, but yeah. I also was an avid fan of Amy Grant, pre and post pop breakthrough.

I've dubbed those the "lure and lock" scenes.

I think Happyish proves the decision makers of such things are still utterly fascinated by white middle aged men being in conflict with their success in life.

Really it's Hank and Frank who make that. (And BD Wong STILL doesn't have the star status he deserves). And Diane Keaton in the jail. The whole thing was just the right tone of schmaltzy family love for a father who can't let go (mostly people just turn the dad into an oaf or an ahole).

Agreed this is a nugget to enjoy.

Joss Whedon helped write that, so suck it anyone who wants to diss on that one.

Hook still carries a heavy 90s cult love. The Alamo did a great multiple course themed dinner quotealong a few years ago.

She was placed with the president and used to cause jealousy/friction with the first lady. The first lady allowed her insecurities to push the girl away, but only caused deeper mistrust- which Frank and Claire could then be free to capitalize and cause a therapy scandal to help grease the way to impeachment.

I am just now actually watching the series and that's one of the few "doesn't make sense within the logic of the show" questions as well. Plus, if Locke is so paranoid about no one finding out, wouldn't he catch a boar every now and then just to keep questions away?
