the area where Raylan does excell is gun play: He has to be the fastest and best pistol shot on TV. (Realistic too, especially compared to some shows like Walking Dead.)

kwoodard it wasnt that the blonde left him-its that she cheated him and played him for a chump, something neither Ava or Winona did.

Dont you talk about Fat Albert! Dont you do it!

Is there any doubt that pound for pound Phil Hartman is the greatest SNL cast member of all time?

Three skits I feel qualify, even though Im not sure they were 10 to 1 skits. I think they were.

I feel like Miller gets dimissed these days because of his politics. Its unfair. I dont think he is as good as he used to be but to me e bascially invented the daily show type schtick..

Agreed. Caruso has become such a punchline its easy to forget how compelling he was. I wonder what might have happened if he had stayed on…….

Great point. People if you havent watched The Shield from beginning to end get on it!

Plus it marked Vic for what he was-He wasnt another Sipowitz, tough guy with a soft heart-he was Lucifer. Great pilot. I also loved that the events of the pilot marched with the characters all the way to the end.

The first few years on NYPD were much better in that regard. Though I love me some Amy Brennerman!

Really? Never heard that. I hate to think Bing was THAT bad. His other kid disputes the "beating" charge. He may have cranky. He was over 70!

The strip softened as the decades rolled. It wasnt as cruel to Charlie Brown as it was in the 50's and 60's. Though I was always dismayed as a child whenever Lucy and Linus would just leave him dangling from the kite eating tree.

I love Bowie, but Bing is just another level. Bowie is Daniel, Bing is Moses. Without Bing guys like Bowie dont exist.

Im glad The Shield got some love. I think The Wire is better but for an episode by episode edge of your seat stomach churning tension you cant beat Vic Mackey.

The thing about Vic Mackey was this: He wasnt a good man who did evil thing for good ends. He was an evil and twisted man who did a lot of bad, but who also did a lot of good, sometimes just for goodness sake. He was also charming and charismatic as the devil. A great great character. I loved him and hated him, but by

I really liked Penny's "What is happening?"

That is true and a valid point-its more the infrastructure breakdown than anything.

It's like Tolkien and Lord of the Rings. He always said it wasnt WW2 but for so many who lived through those years that is what they saw.

Its not so much that the slow zombies arent a threat its that the fast zombies would be such a hard phenomena to overcome. Its delutes tension because you realize they are truly the Borg-resistance is futile. Great post!

Here is a question that is much more shallow than the obvious deeper themes present. After this movie is over, and leaving out Dawn as the sequel, would you say the zombies "won"? Or wouldnt you assume that the rednecks, law enforcement and military get the situation under control?
I dont think the tone is quite as end
