The best that can be said for Insurrection is that it didnt feel like a massive FUCK YOU the way the movie that shall not be named did.

Without the calming influenence of the interviewer it is too much. Almost Lovecraftian.

I always felt that in First Contact Lily stole what would have been more naturally Beverly's role. She would have called him out on being too revengey.

Kirk's balls are what makes him stand out. He wasnt ever afraid to gamble for the highest stakes. It makes him almost frightening. V'Ger was moments away from annihilating Earth; and Kirk was betting on a calculated hunch.

The thing that irks me about The Motion Picture is that they had a HUGE budget and the final film, while ambitious, is a thumping bore. I have a soft spot for it but it's hard to go to bat for.

The thing about Geordie is I think he is like all the TOS supporting characters: He is defined by his job. He is an extremely competant engineer and officer. Beyond that he is not well defined. Picard, Worf, Data and Riker are much more fleshed out.

Seven is a great movie. I think it of it as a horror movie really. Also: SWAT BEFORE DICKS!

Agreed the Berman interviews are acquiring a weird but great momentum.

I think Jean-Luc's  disorientation is what kept him from understanding. Plus the mind fuck of "I may just be suffering from space alzeheimers."
