Actually my mom is just like her, so I find her funnier than most people seem to. She is incredibly grating too much of the time, but I guess that's the point.

"access to just about anything on the internet"

Not only a ginger, but totally hot. What Jenna Fischer are you thinking of?

The song they use is awesome (At Least It Was Here - The 88), really sets the mood for the show quite well.

Ah, to be young again…

Yep I definitely remember someone mentioning it among a list of ways the Sophia storyline could be ended effectively, and so while the reveal wasn't a surprise because the idea had been planted in my head, it was still very effectively done and it was a smart choice by the writers.

Best line of the episode may have been the last one:

My mom is just like Claire so pretty much FML.

Actually, Cameron was, once upon a time, a very well-developed character who did indeed defy many gay stereotypes, specifically his with rednecked background and interest/participation in sports. That was so awesome. I wish they gave him more lines.

*cough* torrents *cough cough*

You'd be surprised at how un-caricature-like she is. Many moms I know (including my own) are just like her and I find Claire's character pretty darn funny because of it. Even better when the rest of the Dunphy family sort of gangs up and makes fun of her controlling nature.

Right there with you. I laughed quite a bit during this episode (admittedly mostly at Phil and Luke lines) but I actually didn't care that much about Donna's concerns because the jokes were just working all episode long. I do think they are valid long-term, but I don't think this episode in particular suffered because
