Or too old.
Or too old.
I don't think it's 'look how relevant our references are' as much as 'here's something new we can riff on'.
Any of the CBB regulars (which could actually include Weird Al), Benson, Funches, Schaal or Glaser are usually worth watching. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.
Me neither. He's maybe not the funniest guy, but he's pretty industrious, genial and entertaining enough. I don't tune in to see him on the show every night, or listen to all of his nerdist podcasts, but I don't avoid the show because he's on it, and I'll listen to episodes of nerdist that feature folks I like.
Are you . . . Ron Funches' mama?
The Fan Fiction literally killed me.
Dig up the episode with Weird Al and the Superheroes hashtag wars. He comes up with some terrific but somewhat off-color suggestions and almost looks like he can't decide if he'll hate himself more for saying them or keeping quiet. He's hilarious.
It helps that he's not concerned about how timely his interviews are - he seems to have people on because he thinks they'd be interesting or fun to talk with, not because they're pimping something. And he'll run with some pet obsession for a week or so, like that detective show he was on about. I don't mind watching…
Oh, I'm not too worried about it. I haven't been disappointed with any of their albums yet. It would have been nice to see this get a higher grade here, though.
No. I've had it on preorder for months. I still plan to enjoy it. You do realize that I can be sad that a reviewer gave ANY Gaslight Anthem a lower grade than I would have, right? It won't stop me from enjoying any of them.
That's too bad - I've been looking forward to this album all year. '59 Sound and Sink or Swim are such great albums.
trulyactually!
Yeah. I have high hopes for the adaptation that Disney has in the works, but I don't think it will hold a candle to the books. http://io9.com/frozen-direc…
Meg Murry, from A Wrinkle In Time. She wasn't the smartest, or strongest kid in the family, but she was such a strong character.
Maybe, but Seger still gets a lot of love out that way. Gaslight Anthem shows him some love.
Ha! I considered putting 'okay' in there, just to be more understated. It's one of my favorite albums. Tenth Avenue Freeze-out is the only track that I don't like, and it's still a stellar song, but it doesn't do anything for me. I still get goosebumps hearing the into to Thunder Road, though, and Jungleland is a…
Cool. I remember reading about it years ago - it's such a propulsive track that I didn't doubt that it was true.
No, I don't think it's anything contrarian. I recognize that it's a
good song, and that people like it, there's just something to the whole thing that really grates on me. I wouldn't try to convince anyone else that they should dislike it, though. I mean, Hey, Jude irritates me, but I outright hate Imagine.
Fire Down Below, too.
I don't know what it is about Hey, Jude that makes me dislike it so much. I don't care for the vocals, or the lyrics, but not to the point where it should inspire any sort of hatred. The only positive thing is that I associate it with The Gunslinger, but that came far to late to redeem it for me.
