For some reason I really cracked up on Julie's "how low do you think you would have to sink as a person to be at an Outback Steakhouse?"
I could listen to their drunken inanities all night. Any AV Clubbers going to the bar this Friday?

I was thinking the same thing. The Monitor is pretty much (I think) a wall-to-wall perfect album, and there was no way the band was going to manage a repeat performance. So they got a little less bleak and a little less heavy, and I'm guessing this is the sound they're going to settle into from here on out. Still

Tried to Quit Smoking basically feels like the band saying "hey, we've been listening to Let It Bleed a lot lately…"

Same here.  There's a chaotic snarl to the production that suits Stef's rapping really well.

Yeah. It seems like a lot of things have come back from the dead in the last few years. Shows, bands, etc. I used to get excited about it but now I'm starting to think it's better to just have a shorter but treasured run. Like we all pretend The Simpsons did.

My grandmother passed away earlier this year and I spent a few days with my father and uncle, cleaning out her apartment at the retirement home. We threw out decades-old correspondence, long expired family-sized bottles of condiments (cheaper to buy in bulk, she would have said), sealed packs of cards, half-empty
