I was thinking the same thing. The Monitor is pretty much (I think) a wall-to-wall perfect album, and there was no way the band was going to manage a repeat performance. So they got a little less bleak and a little less heavy, and I'm guessing this is the sound they're going to settle into from here on out. Still…
