It's such a major punch to the gut that the crew had plans for the 3rd season, and it's made even worse by the fact that really felt confident about it.

I feel like this is what season 6 was aiming to be. Except they didn't know when to incorporate humor into their episodes, unlike this one. The montage with Jake opening Finn's eyes was hilarious.
