My favorite movie of his is Race for the Double Helix. He plays James Watson, Tim Piggott-Smith is Francis Crick, Juliet Stevenson is Rosalyn Franklin, and they all add up to a pretty great little movie. My wife and I watch it every year in the fall on a dreary rainy day.
You might notice that liking the things on my list does not preclude liking the things on your list. That was kinda my point.
I hope this show is a hit, because then Al Madrigal won't be on the Daily Show anymore.
I agree with the short list of things Ellroy favors by the process of elimination (dogs, women without tattoos, restaurants with A ratings). That's a pretty good list. He probably should have stopped there.
