Yeah, I knew that I was taking a risk. I'm de-listing my phone.
I always wonder how bands feel about rock critics. R.E.M had a huge early champion in Robert Hilburn of the LA Times. Hilburn shamelessly pimped for them every chance he got— he practically begged people to listen to them.
Simon— if by "about 1 BBT thread" you mean every BBT thread, then you are absolutely correct.
My wife and I started watching 30 Rock in nightly reruns last year and have really enjoyed them. The drop-off in quality this year has been obvious. After this episode, we both looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders— it was pretty terrible.
I thought the highlight of the show was when Sheldon breathlessly described his dream about Spock guilt-tripping him, and then at the last second flatly added, "Oh, and I was chased by a Gorn."
That was a nasty picture— the visual equivalent of using high-pitched noise at the 7-11 to keep the kids away. And it worked pretty darn well… I didn't loiter at the AV Club over the weekend.
See my comment above. There is no connection between your quote about ambiguity in the content of the show (comedy or drama; or even whether Tony was a good guy in some ways, or at least salvageable) and the ending of the show.
Thank you, Jeffrey Tambor, for bringing America's attention to the most heinous form of discrimination today: hairism.
Series creator David Chase did not think that the ending was ambiguous, if that counts.
You live in Canada?
The Eggo Cinnamon Toast Waffles actually sound like a pretty good idea. They have to be better than regular Eggo waffles.
I was torn between Gollum and Chucky's human doppleganger. She is still cute as a bug, but that is a disturbing picture.
Or the Snapple bottle walking out of the elevator and asking directions to HR.
… but then not doing anything about it. Now THAT is New York at its best.
The flashback had my favorite line (not that I remember the exact quote): When did they stop giving kids cigarettes? It's all part of the liberals' war on Leap Day.
If you own a seedy hotel and a bunch of British tourists come to visit, whatever you do, don't mention Benny Hill.
That last sentence ought to be carved in stone and put outside every study hall in the country.
I used to like him, but now that he's popular, I hate him. Lousy sell-out.
We check around the dial every now and then, so we do explore. And I am only kidding about the one channel price plan. But Sirius is a little like the song "57 Channels and Nothing On" sometimes…. lots and lots of stations that I just have no interest in at all.
