All of these episodes were written by the American writers - and this one borrowed a LOT from the original. The anal sex, the nurse having to beg the doctor to pay her for her husband's work, the bathtub accident, the daughter being jerked around, etc.

I fucking love this show. I think it's as much a testament to the cast as it is the original source material that I've seen these scenes and scenarios play out before and am still endlessly delighted to see them revisited.

Nina Conti has said in an interview that Family Tree is not returning. For what it's worth, I thought this had a far more promising, consistent opening season and is more deserving of a renewal.

Of course, Girls was far more divisive among fans than it was critics.
