I make season 1's "Full Frontal Nudity", season 2's "The Buzz Aldrin Show" and "How to Recognize Different Parts of the Body", season 3's "NJorl's Saga" and season 4's "Light Entertainment War" to be my five favorite episodes.

Cleese told Dick Cavett that a lot of people think that when you're writing crazy comedy, that it's just a matter of being crazy, but what it is, is that you have your silly premise and you have to stick to that logic absolutely rigidly. This is an example of that.

I'm belaboring the obvious here but SNL's real problem over the years has been a simple one: the show is too damn long. If it had started and stayed at 60 minutes it would have been much much better, and even so writing 60 minutes of good comedy once a week takes an enormous amount of talent and work.

Of all the words I could use to describe how Delenn is treated in the series, "stupid" is not one that comes to mind. And as the primary purpose of the show is entertainment and not a future historical documentary, the lapses can certainly be forgiven. I prefer seeing Delenn doing great things and trying to…
