Battlestar Galactica - Exodus Part 2. Everything from Tigh killing his wife to that spectacular space battle with the infamous in-atmosphere dead drop, the show was never better. And not in a good way, as the show slid way downhill from there.

Let's face it - Ron and Tammy II was trying too hard to recapture the magic of the first Ron and Tammy episode (clearly the greatest ep. of the show).

You all beat me to it - I Accuse My Parents really does have it all. "She's drunk! It's funny!"

I dunno - the cast was pretty good. I was totally ready to hate on Katie Holmes, but she sold the part, as did the guys - it is easy to slip into parody doing Kennedy accents, but they made it believable.

Check out the first season at least. You might like it - a lot of people do. I gave up after season two because I felt the characters were mostly unlikable. Stringer Bell was the only one I was kinda rooting for - the dock workers the story shifts to in season two were just dismal people. So if you aren't into it by

Definitely check out The Passion of Joan of Arc (Criterion) with the Voices of Light score. This is one of the great classics that really lives up to the hype.

A Wild Sheep Chase - it's very much Murakami's style - an almost magical realist road trip/mystery with deadpan humor. It feels a lot more brisk than some of his work - a fun read.

The Devils is fantastic! Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave at their best and production design by Derek Jarman, so it's visually interesting - naked writhing nuns or NO naked writhing nuns (uh, there definitely are naked writhing nuns).

My problem with the Martin interview was how, since Maron didn't like his act or his movies, he wanted to badger Martin into admitting they sucked. Taking Woodstock was mediocre, not straight-up terrible - if some unknown indie director made it instead of Ang Lee, it wouldn't have caught as much shit and Martin had

Wow - I thought Maron really reined himself in with the Carrot Top interview. He got enough digs in at him when discussing specific bits that it was absolutely clear Maron hated what he did, but he at least gave Carrot Top some grudging respect for his openness and willingness to potentially walk into Maron's meat

Maron can be a dick - the way he talked down to Demetri Martin was kinda shitty, considering the guy is taking the time to be on his show. If he really hated Martin's comedy and can't restrain himself, he shouldn't have asked him to be a guest. But when he resists the urge to hate on people he can provide an

I like Cranston as an actor. I hate hearing him talk about the acting craft. He's just one of those guys who gets so deep about it, it seems a little self-important.

Pollak can be very annoying, no doubt. Skip the first 15 minutes and it's great. He really digs WAAAY deep in the interviewee's resume to dig up some facinating stuff. It made me realize the awesomeness of some people I never thought were that great (Rob Riggle's and Ivan Reitman's episodes especially)

I always enjoy Doug Loves Movies, Radiolab, and several others mentioned, My top picks from the ones that didn't get mentioned:

Hulu helps for  watching new episodes of "Louie" - all the AMC stuff, you're just out of luck until the DVDs come out (I know Breaking Bad and Walking Dead are on Netflix instant, but it's not the current seasons and they didn't show up until the DVDs had been out for awhile).

The second season suffered a little in that Louie seems far less competent than he did the first season. Remember the pilot episode where Louie takes charge and hires cars to send the kids home from the broken bus? Season 2 Louie would have just looked confused and walked home.

That's what Dan Byrd (the actor playing Cox's son) must be constantly asking himself. He was on Aliens in America - a really charming show with a Freaks and Geeks vibe that went nowhere and died a quiet death, the on to Heroes just as it implodes, and now Cougartown, which seems to be on its way out. He's a likable

Ok, Bored to Death fans - I've almost started watching this a couple times, but since it's called "Bored To Death", stars Schwartzman (who always comes off like an over-privileged hipster douchebag anyway) and seems like it would be too cute for it's own good, I couldn't do it. So is it all smug hipsterism, or am I

Dogville sounded like it would be arty and horrible but it totally worked for me. Von Trier is so hit and miss, but he nailed the ending on that one. If you love Dogville, still try to resist the urge to see Manderlay - now that one is truly arty and horrible.

Oh, that Three's Company point was on how you get a mainstream show dealing with a subject like gay/trans type issues, but it's from a "not really gay" angle then it becomes a stereotype. Remember the whole conceit of the show was Jack Tripper was pretending to be gay to his landlord so he could live with two women.
