Movie:
Saw "Love and Mercy" at the theater over the weekend. As a huge Beach Boys fan, it was a treat to watch.

You got a bottle of ketchup?

Why would The White Album count as two? A double album is still one album.

Here's the thing: I feel as though any great song is ruined if it becomes overplayed. I sort of wish classic rock stations discovered all the great deep tracks from artists that they never play.

It reminds me of when several stingrays were found dead across beach shores after Steve Irwin was killed. Michael Hornby had to release a statement that fans should obviously not react to his death by killing the stingrays for revenge.

At least Lost had plenty of comic relief to balance with the action and mystery.

What do people think so far of Stephen's replacement, Larry Wilmore?

It kind of felt like he was playing his fictional character from The Colbert Report, not himself. Am I the only one who felt this way, or did he retire the character for good?

What on earth happened in those first 15 minutes that would make you stop watching in the middle of the episode?

As emotional as Vincent lying next to Jack is, I also get a giggle from that scene because I'm pretty sure the dog playing Vincent is a different one from the dog playing him at the beginning of the series.

Beautiful episode. One of the rare times that television made me tear up by the end.

Thinking about watching either this or The Wire for the first time. Anyone have a recommendation for which I should watch first?

That's an even bigger deal.

I'm not sure why Don said goodbye to Peggy in their last scene together. It seemed heavily implied that he went back to McCain, and she decided to stay there too. It felt as though saying the actual word, "bye," was just tacked on because this was the finale.

I definitely liked the Breaking Bad finale more than this one, and found myself very emotional at that show's final scene. The most emotional I got in this episode was Don and Peggy's final phone call.

It's beginning to break my heart when the only aspect of the show that makes me genuinely enjoy watching it are the extended couch gags. The problem with this is that they're made by guest directors, not the writers themselves. So the best aspect of the show isn't even worked on by the creative team that puts out the

I love how Otto sounds nothing like all the other characters that Harry Shearer voices.

Star Wars. I've never got around to watching any of them. Or Indiana Jones for that matter.

But I don't live in Chicago!
