Pisces, of course.
for my brother

WXYC
I do a radio show every Wednesday evening on WXYC Chapel Hill, and last night I played this song.

Doesn't Disappoint
I'd read some disappointing things, but we got the advance at the radio station a few days ago and it is SOLID. (Plus, his real-people band is SO tight and with him.) It's an impressive record, and a good entry-point (along with last year's Grandes Exitos) for people who might not have a tolerance

High Fidelity is bad bordering on insulting
"High Fidelity nails [a] tricky tone…with its alternating currents of romanticism and bitterness, nostalgia and regret. It's a grown-up meditation on love and loss…"

Port of Call New Orleans
One of the best films of last year, in my opinion. I was pretty astonished, actually.

This List
I've been coming to this site for music and film reviews (but mostly for the features) since I was a freshman in high school, and I've been disappointed by oversights and overstatements here before, but this list is the most disappointing thing I have read here.

School
The two were recently at my school (UNC-Chapel Hill) talking about this book and playing Superchunk songs, along with songs by other (usually the more obscure) Merge artists. They just played in the back of the school bookstore, which is pretty cool.

Armies Clash by Night
It is funny that you selected that particular line to highlight as well written prose; it is merely an updated and self-aware plagiarism. Matthew Arnold first wrote those lines a long time ago (in "Dover Beach"):

Wolf Parade is not very good.

I love Sunset Rubdown
This album is not only not as good as Random Spirit Lover, it's not as good as Shut Up I Am Dreaming either. I've been listening to it for a few weeks and I saw them live a week ago and really, without the 'experiments in atonality', they are not nearly as interesting. I also would stop much

These Are All OK
But the best so far are Micachu - Jewellery, Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion, Joseph Nothing - Dummy Variations.

Free Food for EVERYONE!
Except Vegetarians! FUCK VEGETARIANS!

For sure. I will see this if I get the chance.

I love Dan Deacon
That's all I have to contribute. Also the new Dan Deacon / Future Islands 7" is awesome.

This album leaked ages ago
I got the leak of this in December. It really is superb. It takes the pop-candy of Load Blown and fucks it around through the Beaches and Canyons filter. It's also kinda Dan Deacony in bits. This album is probably better than Deacon's new Bromst though.

I am not sure…
After seven or so listens that this album is better than their self-titled, but it is really great. All of their albums are really great.

Not so much
I don't like the sample track. I also don't think many of us are going to agree with your fawning over Bon Iver.

Zero
Zero walkouts when I saw it yesterday. The theatre did only have about 8 people in it to begin with though.

OH NO
OH NO OH NO!

What's in a name?
Honestly though. Can somebody illuminate how the title fits?
