I think the gritty handheld thing was the main weakness of the film. Apart from the non story. Or the terrible acting. Or lack of any kind of emotional nuance (the movie felt soooo one note). Yeah, I did not like the movie very much.

I do not know why the director thought that a horror framework is the way to sell the movie to the audiences. However I do know that the movie is completely shit. The other 2011 Bronte adaptation (Jane Eyre) was rather bland but I did find this movie agressively bad.

I liked Ladyhawke as a kid because it seemed like a fantasy story that could happen somewhere in a little bit heightened reality. to your comment bellow (somehow I cannot reply to it):

Is he really hurting them? I find the arguement that all pirated stuff would be bought as a logicall fallacy… Anyway, I am also not from the US and I even have an HBO subscription (we get the subtitled version of GoT with a week delay) but I also pirate it. It is so much more comfortable to watch when I want,

Your notion that "Evidently black people can only be helped by nice white people in movies" is racist is misguided. Actually, it may not be pleasant to hear, but it is very much a reflection of the reality. You do understand that without the active participation and approval by the "white" majority there would be

Agree. I think he is very much competent in making nice pictures but has nothing interstenig to say. And it is funny that someone considers this material as not worthy of the director who made Panic Room (aka the picture where the credits at the beginning are the most creative thing in the movie ).

Of course I meant "television real". Especially in comparison with Castle.

Actually, I am on the opposite spectrum. I liked Castle in the beginning (have a soft spot for fun fluff and Nathan Fillon), now it is almost unbearably bad.

Maybe it is not completely classical music, but I liked Songs from the Labyrinth and If on a Winter´s Night by Sting quite a lot . Both albums are in a magical land somewhere between pop music and Middle Ages.

yes.

Funny that you mention it. There is a eastern European version called  Adele has not eaten yet. It is actually a very funnny spoof, full of bizarre gags and a bit of surrealism. This incarnaton of Sherlock is called Nick Carter and the plot involves a carnivorous plant eating people with the name Adele (whttp://www.imd
