completely agree - the thursday next series is pretty much played out but Shades of Grey was intriguing and thought provoking… really want to know more about the world… Also, it led to an amusing about face in a book shop when I leaped on 50 shades of grey as I thought it was a sequel and then realisation hit….

I think you're being a bit harsh - I thought this book was where she really got her groove as a writer. Chronicling the downfall of the Spain family was excellently done and she really has gotten under the skin of post tiger Ireland. The idea that if you followed the 'rules' and do all the right things bad stuff only

yes, they are - I read My sister's keeper years ago because I was intrigued to see how she would deal with the ethical dilemmas raised (saviour sibling). It was absolute crap - such a cop out. The worst is that she's not a bad writer so the prose fairly gallops along and the characters aren't badly developed but her
