"Oh You Pretty Things" has lines like "Crack in the sky and a hand reaching down for me" and "Homo sapiens have outgrown their use." It's certainly one of the catchiest songs about the apocalypse that I know of.

You were never bored? Never wondered what the hell the point was? Never thought "Daniel Day-Lewis is just playing John Huston from Chinatown"?

Possible Heresy
I know this may be enough to get me strung up, but while there was a lot to admire in "There WIll Be Blood", and Day-Lewis did wonderful work, the film was ultimately unsatisfying, and didn't add up to a coherent and successful whole. Also, while Day-Lewis was brilliant, I bet there were things other

Mac's Backs and Tommy's are both still there, thankfully. I always go to both whenever I visit my parents. Cleveland Heights is a beautiful town. If it weren't a suburb of Cleveland I'd spend the rest of my life there.

Oh Yes Yes Yes
I can't fucking wait. And after "The Manchurian Candidate," we know she can do heartless and ruthless conservative women with the best of them. And Jim Broadbent will just improve things. I am pleased.

I love love love this play (and the movie actually is a pretty strong adaptation.) It may be in my top 10 musicals ever. The story is just so brilliantly told, making a historical event exceptionally tense and dramatic, and somehow remaining alive to the real wonder of the democratic process while not at all

ZMF, what were you doing at the Palmer House this weekend? On Saturday I was at the theatre conference that was on a different floor from the Socialism conference. Wallace Shawn dropped by the theatre conference to sign copies of his newest play. But I didn't want to buy it, so I didn't go to say hi. Still, I say

Redmayne Won Supporting Actor
Denzel Washington won for lead.

After her number, I thought "If we say we love you, will you take a breath and do a quiet ballad?"

Also, Good Full Loads.

@Lone Audience

I saw "Amelie" after seeing "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not," which is a very creepy movie starring Audrey Tatou as an obsessive stalker. She was so persuasive, and used her gamine charms so well, that I found "Amelie" pretty creepy. I mean, she does some pretty stalkerish things. I still enjoyed it, but the charm was a

I Miss Crispy M&M's
Why were they discontinued? And will they ever come back?

I still can't get over the popularity of "YMCA" at sporting events. What are they implying goes on in the locker rooms?

Oh, I figured he didn't do any/most of those things—I was more wondering if that bizarre phrasing was actually from the WBC. Because that's some mental illness-level rambling there.

Happens to the best of us.

Sad but true.

The sad thing is, the damages from suing people after being beaten/threatened are one of the major ways the church makes money. So if they do beat them up, in the end the "church" wins. I hate the world sometimes.

And It's Playing…
…At the newly renamed Stephen Sondheim Theatre. Which is sort of awesome. I like to think Mr. Sondheim will be in the opening night crowd.

Out of curiosity, how is it pronounced? I assume it's not like a gutter on someone's house, but would it be "AH-goo-TAY" or something else?
