You sure? I don't remember seeing it mentioned in the original Washington Post report.

Yeah, I certainly did not see this coming. I think I'm more surprised by Nadal's comeback than Federer's. Federer was basically at the top of his game in 2015, before the injuries last year. He just happened to come back right where he left off. It's been much longer since Nadal has been consistently at this level.
I know he was dealing with an injury fairly recently. Maybe it's a lingering problem for him right now?
Me neither!
People have been talking about Novak's struggles for a while but Murray's struggles are worse right now. Novak is beating guys like Fognini.
I'd also love to see some young up-and-comers and even some vets, like Hewitt in his final years. But, on the other hand, that strikes me as the only fair way to do it.
I don't know why you wouldn't just expand the number of players who qualify through the qualifier tbh.

What's surprising is just how unsurprising that is right now.
Both, actually! I don't care about Sharapova and I don't really know that much about how the wild care system works.
Yeah, it's not the first time he's done something like this but it seems to be the most significant.
It's predictable because he's a raging narcissist who can't see past himself for a second. Coach Pop got it exactly right when he said everything "begins and ends with him." Clear cut case right here. It's all about bragging and massaging his own ego, with no sense of, or care for, the ramifications of his actions and…
Oh yeah…. 8
Yeah! I'm glad. I'm a fan of hers. My point about Mladenovic still stands though.
Just doing some math here…
I meant just the race for year-end #1 will be between Nadal and Federer. I'm not sure when exactly one, or both of them, will overtake Murray and Djokovic in the overall ATP ranking but I'd be surprised if they didn't. Murray has a lot of points to hold in the second half of the year now, while Federer and Nadal are…
I know. I just meant #1 for the 2017 race. I should have been clearer.
Can't believe it but it really looks like world #1 is going to come down to Federer and Nadal this year. They're pulling away (Rafa is now #1 since Federer took the clay season off). Murray and Djokovic are too far behind and neither are showing signs of life. And who else could possibly catch up?
