She sometimes manages, but she often gets this stiffness/arch quality to her voice. Fortunately that works with her characterisation, and I guess she's partially covered by the backstory of having moved around a lot when she was younger.

A largely irrelevant point, but the living statue in tonight's episode was also in an episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. One of the Busy Phillips episodes, IIRC. (it's on the boardwalk and Cameron runs past it looking perplexed).
