I agree. And there was a line in the previous episode, or the previous but one. And there's the parrallel's between Yvonne S's character and the relationship between Deb and Dex. That plot's still going on, just with a little subtlety.

I figure it's mostly Minear working with the template Murphy gave him. So it's still wacky and over the top, but it's fundamentally more coherent.
