Haven't you ever gone with your SO to a movie just to be a good sport? I'm not talking about all the time. Once in awhile it's a nice thing to do, though, and sometimes the movie you thought you weren't interested in is a pleasant surprise.

@avclub-42763705844bf5e2af4abd6c898f8dcb:disqus Why go see a disaster like John Carter when Friday Night Lights has been streaming on Netflix for years?

If you're talking about the diarrhea scene, it's not the shit that makes it so funny. It's the juxtaposition of the shit with the delicate, super-feminine, froofy bridal shop they're all in. If the food poisoning had hit while they were still in the restaurant it wouldn't have meant anything. I don't generally like

Didn't they already get divorced like a year ago? That's what I thought when I read the "breaking news."

I think his reception to women's comedy is definitely at the core of the issue. If Carolla thinks sexist bullshit is funny, and the women on his staff aren't producing material that devalues themselves, then they aren't being funny by his metric.

When it comes to It's Always Sunny, I think a better character to illustrate this than the Fisher Stevens one would be the lawyer. Every time they go back to him, he begs them not to return, but they still do. And they always manage to fuck up his life somehow.

He dated Phoebe. He told Monica, "Remember, it's just food—it's not love." He told Ross that he married a lesbian on purpose to sabotage his life, and Chandler that he used humor as a defense mechanism. Good episode.

If you listen to the DVD commentary (yeah, I DID), that ending was 100% studio interference. In the original script, apparently, Winona's character eventually told both guys to take a flying leap.

Greasy hair = no. And when he combed it it was worse.
