I agree entirely.

Modern Love is, I think, the most perfect pop song.  It's so propulsive, it just sweeps you along.

It's flawed but enjoyable.  There are a handful of very powerful scenes but it isn't great.  I do love Sakamoto's soundtrack though and still listen to it on occasion.
