You have to understand just how culturally important the idea of 天下, or all-under-heaven (what the movie refers to as "our land") is though, and then the message isn't odd at all, but actually makes perfect sense.

You have not truly lived until you've seen Matthew McConaghy with a shaved head attack a dragon in mid-air, while wielding a battle-axe.
I think The Scorpion King is pretty underrated. Now I'm not arguing that it's a GOOD movie, but it has this reputation as a legendarily bad movie that it doesn't deserve.
Aaaaaand right on cue, the useful idiots arrive.
Wait….is The Beast Jewish???
I can't wait to hear from the usual anti-Israel crowd about how this is ultimately Israel's fault.
I hope Sin City doesn't make it. One of my all-time most disappointing movies. How about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang for 2005 instead?
What a fucking loss. I just listened to "Searching with my Good Eye Closed." again. I swear Cornell could peel the paint off walls with that wail of his.
Except it's not at all that, because, and say it with me slowly here, there are no slaves in Israel at all. I don't really know how this is even something that needs to be explained.
Criticizing Israel for bullshit reasons certainly is, especially when somehow the numerous atrocities of Hamas are explained away or outright ignored.
And all the Palestinians who live in Israel? You know, the ones who have full voting rights, run for office, have political parties, and in every way have full and equal citizenship, same as any other Israeli? Boy, really sounds sounds like apartheid there…
There's no equivalence between South Africa in the 80s and Israel now, and to suggest otherwise is insane, and kinda embarrassing, frankly.
There is no moral equivalence here. Attacking Israel and somehow giving a pass to the atrocities of the Palestinians so so obtuse that yes, I think it verges on outright anti-semitism.
Very nice of all those artists to sign that petition. Now I have a convinient list of anti-semitic bigots to avoid.
That is a cool idea, but I actually really liked that they kept Luke offscreen for the whole movie. It really built up his legend, and really made their quest to find him more meaningful. But yeah, this would have been pretty awesome too.
To each their own man. I loved Force Awakens and Rogue One, but if you don't that's no skin off my back. This trailers has me pretty damn pumped for Last Jedi though!
Damn, you got me there!
I see what you did there.
Mine too.
Although, on the other hand, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
