Some Observations About Fresh Air
Anyone else notice that Fresh Air often seems to have the intellectual maturity of a 12-year-old girl?

TAL As a Rival to the News Shows
In a lot of ways, This American Life (the radio show) presents a better insight into the big news stories than the "News Magazines" - the two recent shows on the mortage and and credit crises the best examples.

I think someone else has pointed this out, but This American Life is a PRI (Public Radio International) show - not NPR. PRI started out in some ways kind of like NPR's younger, hipper brother. Although Glass got his start working on NPR's All Things Considered as a producer.

Not to overly criticize Ron Moore, who's done a fantastic job with the whole show, but he did direct this one.

No, Callie and Tyrol getting together made sense. She'd been making moon eyes at him since the miniseries.

And Firefly really IS "Wagon Train in Space".

Just avoid damn dirty apes. The rest of 'em are cool.

Cruz was a lot better in the Spanish "Open Your Eyes" than in the "Vanilla Sky" remake.

Umm… or something like that. (Must remember to proofread before posting)

Criterion's Brazil is fantastic. Well worth the money. As Lowry knows, I'm sure.

Apollodorus' explanation works for me.

I've been re-watching the entire series and agree that the Kat episode is just about the worst one. It just made no sense. "Oh, by the way, we're out of food and everyone will be dead in two weeks" was set up by just one line about an infection in the food supply - I think we needed a bit more setup than that.
