Ahem.
The best Purple Rain follow-up Prince never made is The ArchAndroid. I know it's more like Sign O' the Times. Whatever. Prince wishes he had made that album.

Michelle's a big Coldplay fan, so I have all of their albums on my iPod. Rush of Blood to the Head is a very good album- not great but close enough. Chris Martin is a bad lyricist, but when he keeps his shit suitably vague, like he does throughout Rush, the lyrics don't seem bad. X & Y has good music, but the lyrics…
Oates, I couldn't disagree with Crumbles more strongly if (s)he were repping for Goebbels, but that avatar is Mr. Noblet from Strangers with Candy. Respect the Noblet.
I agree, Lawyer. In fact, anything by Nelly is horrifically mind-numbing and insulting to the art of rapping. It's not even that he has a bad flow. He's just a moron.
This series covers the last gasps of my connection to radio pop music. After discovering indie and settling into a relationship in 2005, my odds of hearing this shit inadvertently went down drastically. But I don't feel old. Honestly, I feel kind of proud. Most of this shit gives my brain acid indigestion.
He's a regular writer for the site. He also writes for eMusic, and his work there is generally terrific.
I just realized that Late Registration might count after I posted this. It kind of does. If it's a pop rap album, it's the best since God knows when. But fuck if I know what it is.
This Is the Best Pop-Rap Album
…since The Blueprint, possibly. Big Boi is on fire! It's easily one of the event records of 2010.
Phodreaw, Munch has been on so many shows that there's a debate among nerdier TV critics as to whether his inclusion in a series makes it all the dream of the autistic kid in St. Elsewhere.
Most of Fringe's guest stars are already mildly famous. Like 3 The Wire actors have turned up already, plus folks like Peter Weller.
I actually think of "D.P.O." That's as visually stunning an episode as the show ever did. And "Drive" and "Biogenesis."
Darin Morgan clearly empathized with and preferred Scully over Mulder. Next week's Morgan episode features a fairly succinct dismissal of Mulder and a powerful affirmation of Scully. "War of the Coprophages," "Jose Chung's From Outer Space," and, especially, "Quagmire" continue in this vein.
I agree with the consensus on Westerman/Hosteen. The character's not particularly deep and he is used to spout a bit too much New Agey bullshit, but he's played well and his cool demeanor anchors his spirituality.
Agreed, JDog. Skinner got two excellent episodes in s3/s4. He shared a decent one with Krycek in s6. If the latter had been more focused on Krycek, it might have been more interesting.
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
I would watch that, if they could get Mel Gibson to star.
Mel, butyouwillblowmefirst.com is terrific, but I'm disturbed that your first blog post reads:
"Well, what do you wanna hear, man? Do you wanna hear that sometimes I think about eatin' a bullet? Huh? Well, I do! I even got a special bullet for the occasion with a hollow point, look! Make sure it blows the back of my…
With ?uestlove involved, though, does she even have to do anything but sing?
