Agreed, UMD. I actually gave up during s10. The ones I've seen since- at least 50 post-s10 episodes- have not disabused me of the notion that The Simpsons suck these days.
But more favorites:
11. 22 Short Films About Springfield
12. Homer's Phobia
13. Homer the Heretic
14. Marge Be Not Proud
15. Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington

"Monday" is fantastic, definitely. "Dreamland," too. But the stretch starting with "Terms of Endearment" and ending in "Agua Mala" is pretty bad, with the exception of "Tithonus."

Are married (I think).

"Je Souhaite" is definitely great. "all things," too. And s6 has "Drive." That almost makes episodes like "Arcadia" and "Milagro" worth it. But not "Two Fathers."

Scully is disgusted by Pfaster from the beginning of the investigation. It's an interesting contrast. She's a medical examiner, constantly and casually immersed in the gruesome particulars of death. He's a fetishist who willfully surrounds himself in mementos mori. She is disquieted by this, I think, in part because

I'd like to get this thread back to listing favorite episodes of the series.
1. Last Exit to Springfield
2. Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily
3. Sideshow Bob Roberts
4. Separate Vocations
5. Dog of Death
6. You Only Move Twice
7. Bart Gets an Elephant
8. Krusty Gets Kancelled
9. Rosebud
10. Homer's Enemy/22 Short Films About

The opening 2-parter of s5 was incredibly ambitious in its construction, but it was also weighed down by Chris Carter's weaknesses as a writer- stodgily formal but also purple narration, narrative incoherence. It was a harbinger of good and bad things to come.

Actually, I agree with the grades as given. "Die Hand Die Verletzt" is as darkly witty as any episode not written by Darin Morgan.

Good mentions all, Phodreaw. Actually, her development began with s1's best episode, "Beyond the Sea." In it, we learn a great deal about her close, mentor-like relationship with her father. Later seasons suggest that that relationship bore itself out in her love life, as she was consistently shown to be attracted to

"[A] nicely realized community"…
There are two things that I think make even a lesser episode of The X-Files like "Fresh Bones" better than an episode of almost any series on television: a sense of setting, and a sense that the story is somehow representative of a certain aspect of the American collective imagination

I'm Not There? Of all the movies to walk out of…

Agreed, HDB. (About the demon, not the Trio, who were hilarious.)

AND THE MORNING AND THE EVENING WERE THE SPOILERS

Dragonslayer's my favorite. Followed by Random Spirit Lover, Apologies, and Mt. Zoomer.

I like to imagine this is how all Kips begin…

I generally prefer Sunset Rubdown to Wolf Parade. How does Expo 86 fit on the Spencer Krug stylistic flow chart?

I think it's my fiancee's favorite episode of Angel. I like it quite a lot, but thought it was a little heavy-handed.

I agree with Idiot Jed, except in regard to s5, which is very nearly perfect.

Actually, Felicia Day is annoying in just about everything other than Dr. Horrible.

Sirens will forever be known as the movie that couldn't be redeemed by naked Portia de Rossi.
