I'm starting to think that a show this flat and mediocre really isn't worth the zombie nightmares it occasionally gives me.

Agreed. This felt like it could have been a season 2/3 episode (which is a very good thing.) I think it's my favorite 30 Rock episode in a long time: there was no Hazel, minimal Kenneth, Tracy was involved in the A-story instead of having his own overly-wacky side plot, and almost every joke landed for me.

But last season had Bopper & Mark/Team Kentucky, who were just downright fun to watch (and they made it pretty far in the race.) Yeah, there were douchebags aplenty, but actively rooting against people is more entertaining than being mostly indifferent.
