That would be a talented and weird-looking family.

I second the support for Admiral Neck's post.
Tell me more about this Martin fellow.
But aren't you excited by the updated, condensed "Prisoner" movie?
After Watchmen, I have started fervently wishing that no more of my favorite books or graphic novels ever get "adapted" into movies.
Crazy.
As long as it doesn't have Ryan Reynolds in it, I'm Ok with it.
I'll agree on Carpenter, except for "Ghosts of Mars," which was beyond terrible. And the only reason I didn't like "Escape from L.A." was that it was nothing but a remake of "Escape from New York," but not as cool. The rest of his stuff rocks. I wish he'd make a good film again.
Shredder, I'll second you on "Dance of the Dead." It's a fun movie that knows the genre, has a sense of humor and has some scenes that will make you laugh and cringe at the same time. Definitely worth the time.
The problem wasn't too much reliance on the source material. It was the needless changes, some bad acting and (agreed) getting the tone wrong.
I couldn't give a flying flip whether Mormons are considered 'official' Christians or not. (Insider baseball bullshit…) But I personally find it interesting that both girls gravitated to religions with emphasis on ritual and fantastical elements (moreso than other denominations).
No sacred cows here. Just pointing out that the AV Club actually doesn't review a lot of fantasy fiction. I would also be fine with more literature coverage. More books is (almost) always a good thing.
Don, you might want to read the article again. Simmons doesn't just write fantasy. For instance, The Crook Factory is historical fiction and the Joe Kurtz books are hardcore crime fiction.
Say hello for us.
"Werdsmiff has written a comment for the ages … sure to be a bestseller!"
Signal,
I love the reveal that Medea has actually been dead for the past several movies and her son was impersonating her all along, which is why she would go nuts and attack furniture with chainsaws.

You're tougher than me. I'd only last three.
Look, The Shining book and The Shining movie can both be enjoyed if kept completely seperate from each other. They are two different creatures that happen to share the same name.
