Except Nite Owl has been regarded as kind of terrible from everybody with a modicum of taste.  So now there is at least one more crappy Watchmen comic than there ever was before.

Image does good work now, but back then….wow.

Counterpoint:  These comics are better than anything Image managed to put out for nearly a decade.

DC Comics doesn't need you to stick up for them.  Why is comics one of the only places where people feel the need to defend giant corporations when lowly people say something negative about them (and in Robeson's case…in a friendly and polite way)?

Yeah.  He should have cut off relations with DC while not establishing some sort of fallback plan for himself!   That would please Alexander Knox!

You are one person, thanks.   And I highly doubt that people would be staying away from a cartoon about people using magic powers because there is 'implausible' technology.

I love the idea of you preaching to comic book nerds how superior your fantasy cartoon is to them.

As much as I love Jeff Lemire, it's not like Animal Man and Swamp Thing are two characters that haven't had surges of popularity and are fondly remembered by comics fans.  (And I'm not sure how hot they truly are if we're talking sales and not critical acclaim).  And how many people buying Animal Man are buying Sweet

Actually, I think the Goon is the perfect place for it.  The Goon is one of those books (like Hellboy, Walking Dead, etc.) that probably has a few crossover fans because the subject matter isn't that different.  It's a good place for a wake-up call..saying that if you like the Goon (something different) than go try

Except horror, crime, romance, etc. are handled different in comics than any other place.   It's kind of silly to 'read' comics for just the stories involved as it kind of clips out the single most important part of comics as a medium.

It is actually a pretty bad time for non-superhero comics (as well as superhero comics).  Check out what has happened to Vertigo (look for Brian Wood's comments).

No, we don't.  There are a few exceptions (Walking Dead/Saga/Fables..ick), but the roadside is littered not only with great independent series (and Vertigo series), but also even innovative superhero work.   You might support other stuff (as do I), but we're in a tiny minority.  It is one of the saddest things about
