I'm fully behind your established artists benefit from new media explanation. There's a weird trend now of people assuming that if broadcast tv went away, then the consumer can make sure that only what they want to watch will get made, and imagine a utopia of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad being the norm.

What I don't understand is why Todd disregarded the plan for networks to rerun their popular and critically acclaimed back-catalogue without a reason.

Community, TBBT, X Factor, The Vampire Diaries at one point last year.

@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus  I also can't see how numbers can be low enough for cancellation, I mean Pulling got to finish up all its reviews with only about 10 of us in the comments section.

I think comment numbers, and I watched this` numbers probably correlate well to the number of registered users who read, but lots of unregistered s read reviews to make up the numbers of current shows, so in cases where AVC commentariat don't particularly like a show eg Family Guy or TBBT, nearly all readers are

I'd guess the plot of next season will revolve around the vacant Woodbury. Who will move in, how will they get along with the prison group. Then perhaps a three way battle along with a returning Governor group, to set up the next major change of location.

*Comic spoilers*
Yeah, then because the gates were destroyed during the attack zombies overran the area. So Lilly? shot the Governor to slow the zombies down and escape.

*TWD TV SPOILER*
Yeah. The big shootout in the prison resulted in no human deaths and lasted all of 10 minutes. Also they (Rick etc.) weren't forced out of the prison. The Governor then shot all but two of his own men. Rick et al then absorbed the remaining Town civilians into the prison.

Do a Columbo, do a Columbo.
"Just remind me. Which university was it, April's gone to again?"
"Dartmouth."
"Dartmouth. Of course, Dartmouth. Thanks"
Good old Columbo. Just the one technique, but still shits on Quincy

TVBTN has a good daily ratings layout though, but I agree that their renew/cancel index is terrible. They pretty much just rank them against network average and assume that's all that matters. Surely stuff like awards nominations/wins would be easy enough to factor in. Also they write about how they write the

I'll also bite:
Totals for the year

Its something I planned to include in my initial Power Rankings, but dropped it due to shows being rated against themselves rather than each other.

"Uh, yeah, I spent some time with Ray before he went and I just wanted to say that I think we should all remember that Ray, by the end, he loved Jesus. Now, I know, Liz, there's no proof for Jesus, but then there's no proof for lots of things, like science or the stock market and we believe in them. Look, what I'm

Thinking naively and positive, the bar for renewal on Friday should be lower, and getting away from the Go On and New Girl schedule clash may even see it gain a small amount of viewers.

Thanks. I'm always glad to hear people enjoy these posts.

It's kind of rude of them to get the website wrong, when College Humor specifically namechecked AV Club.

Its hard to say, but TBBT went back up to a 6.1 rating last night (regaining 0.7 of the points it lost last week), so its a reasonable guess that a significant number of TBBT's audience decided to watch 30 Rock's finale, and maybe the extra 0.3 it didn't get back watched Community's premiere the next week as well?
