AVC's most watched show was 30 Rock (363 viewers) overtaking last weeks most
popular show, Parks and Rec. (333 this week). The Office (280) was third
in AVC viewers after more than doubling last weeks (124), although this
may have been influenced by commenters disagreeing with the low review
grade

War Is the H-Word Power Rankings

With House of Cards being released on most (all?) areas where Netflix operates on the same day, hopefully it will mark the start of shows being legally available at the same time across country boundaries.

That's alright Scrawler. I'm sure a lot of readers don't grade episodes, as TVDW said 1600 Penn was getting enough readers that they are considering picking it up for weekly reviews, however when I counted, only 11 people graded this weeks episode.

In the first TVCPR, they said that all shows in the top 20 get a points boost, suggesting the actual viewer count doesn't matter as long as its one of the top 20 for the week and all 20 get an identical boost. However my rankings go from exact viewer count which may give some bias, I imagine more people rank dramas

The aim is to normalise ratings across timeslots and networks while also including AVC popularity. The number should represent the popularity of each show if the viewers
were made up of 50% AVC readers and 50% 18-49 y/o US viewers who do not
take day of the week, lead-in's or network

Yeah, that's the show that seems most out of place on their list. I have got Person of Interest at 28th out of 51 shows this week, and most of the shows it's beating are un-reviewed, and hence have no (statistical) AVC popularity. Elementary and The Good Wife are similarly much lower on my list than theirs.

The phrase 'demystifying television ratings' seems to have been dropped after being mocked every time this goes up.

I did the formula after I found the first TV Club Power Rankings to be disappointing, I just plug the numbers in for the week. Maybe takes 15 minutes each week.

Statistics you may or may not find interesting
(All stats only true for network shows that are reviewed by the AV Club for
week ending 13th Jan, and viewers are counted around 36 hours after
reviews are posted)

Woops, Viewer Score has now been changed to Rating Score, as it should have said. Thanks for the correction. Scores in the top ten and botttom 5 are WITHW Score yes.

I'm here now. Large comment is just below, although as for explaining the numbers AVC have produced I'm not much clearer.

Yeah, preferably there would be an open thread on each non-reviewed show so I could perfect it. I was thinking of using the number of grades on the reviews under 'other shows' when they debuted, but these are artificially high. Any ideas for measuring AVC popularity of unreviewed shows would be welcomed.
