Every David X. Cohen era ToH was brilliant (he obviously loves the format, as well as being brilliant at writing within it, having written 5 ToH's  The Simpsons Spin Off showcase, both Anthologies of Interest, and 22 Short Films about Springfield), but yeah I agree with V being the best.

I may be overstating the problem, as I still enjoyed these episodes, and they work much better for me upon rewatch. I was just really puzzled when she was introduced. The possible UK/US culture difference didn't occur to me initially, and I'm still slightly surprised that she could ever be confused with just being

That was part of the problem with this arc for me (being British). She said a lot of things almost off the bat that made her seem challenged, (and the scene were she was picked up from school wiped out all other possibilities) but no-one acknowledged it for ages. Its like that trope where the audience is one step

Oddly, every episode of Community is promoted in the UK by adverts saying something like "Comedy legend Chevy Chase returns for another semester on Community". So someone thinks he brings in an audience.

He will never top his newswire on Final Destination 5 though. "…their children had ceased mid-skip, their hoops rolling unattended into
the gutters, and begun staining their bonnets with tears, inconsolable
by even the most scrumptious of Cadbury treats."

Okay. That makes sense. The AVClub paints an image of everyone watching HBO/AMC/Showtime shows, so I forget that the average person might not bother paying for more than the basic channels.

Homeland only gets 1.75 million viewers in the US! It gets almost double that in the comparatively small UK.
