I enjoy thinking about how many unsuspecting people picked upWorld's Greatest Dad at the Redbox after glancing at the cover art thinking they were going to get a typical Robin Williams piece of schlock.

I think "… it's because we want to see our dads kicking ass," is probably spot on.  Also, Taken in particular is such a complete power fantasy for middle-aged dads themselves—you get to showup how ineffectual the step-dad's money and permissiveness are compared to your commonsense and asskicking.

Friday, I watched The Girl Who Played With Fire, which started out cliched-but-likable, but ended up being insultingly stupid. Followed with Apocalypse Now on Netflix (first time I had seen the theatrical cut).
Saturday, it was The Third Man (I need to read some Graham Greene) and more season 3 Breaking Bad.
