Put on Ween's Spinal Meningitis Got Me Down.  Privacy ensues.

@avclub-955d864a62659945cc9434898e275deb:disqus Well, you could always read Blindness.

Check out The Proposition.

Yo, Mister White, how long do we have to follow these bats?

Much too hirsute.

@
Lascivious Loser - No, that would be my appreciation of Ghostbusters 2.

Sold.

Thanks! That's the one.

I think my first was Ghostbusters.  It scared the bejeezus out of me at the time, but in retrospect, I appreciate my parents' tough love.

Does anyone know of a similar movie about plants? My undergrad profs used to break it out on a reel-to-reel projector during downtimes in lab. I seem remember footage of insect-based pollination set to porno music with the same Pepi LePeu-meets-Herzog voiceover.

I think the Hangover 2 backlash is out of proportion with the film's faults. It got plenty of laughs from me.

I thought Mesrine was really good.

They look like the evil teenaged mutant gang from Grant Morrison's X-men run.

I haven't read it, but I gather both adaptations are better than the book deserves.  The made-for-TV sequels are on Netflix so I'll probably get to them at some point.

Another Earth may be favorite movie of the year.  I thought the quiet performances were great, and it used one of my favorite thought experiments.

I re-watched the Swedish version of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and can tentatively say Noomi > Rooney.  I also think the slower pace serves the mystery a little better.

Idiocracy can take its place with Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and The Road among the most chillingly plausible visions of the future ever imagined.

LIKED. Because I for one am dedicated to making the "Swag Onion" meme stick.

I approve

jesus.
