It settled on a 98% on RT. I don't read reviews since too many reviewers like to spoil things, but that doesn't sound "lukewarm" to me. That sounds like the best reviewed movie of the year.

Sounds just like 2001 to me. Not much emotional experience in that one. Technically though, one of the best films of all time.
You mean Dowd. Because he reviewed it at Toronto too.
It's 20 dollars per person for IMAX where I am, so I'll get family coming into town tomorrow to take me to it.
That struck me as odd too. When I saw this review I was like "oh good, someone else reviewed it too so I can have two points of reference." And then it was the same person.
Minor spoilers for movie, but necessary to refute your comment:
Let's eat Grandma.
I disagree that Harris was closer to the real Dumbledore. He was definitely cast because he looked like an old wizard (and slightly like Santa Claus) but that's not what Dumbledore ever was. Can you imagine Harris trying to do the fight with Voldemort? He was completely unthreatening, and his movements were slower…
For me it was the flat-out amazing look the Hogwarts grounds had. Everyone after Cuaron just kept his look and feel for HP, but they didn't get it totally right.
Prisoner of Azkaban was the best book and best movie in my opinion. People seem to forget that Cuaron's visual style for Hogwarts and the Harry Potter universe was carried through the rest of the films. Go back and compare Columbus's look to his.
You can't blame him. He still thinks digital watches are really neat.
Sounds like Dragon Ball Z.
Alfonso Cuaron > Sandra Bullock hate
I feel the same way. She's not a good actress, but she's no Blake Lively either. I like when she does subtle, inward roles, like 28 Days.
My number 2 pick of this year. I cannot wait. I can however wait to pay 20 dollars for Imax.
Oh good, you do understand the ending. You're just being a House Republican about it.
Yes.
There's a recent psychological study that found endings matter about 10000% more than the journey.
JESUS FUCK. They weren't dead the whole time. I'm sorry, but if you can't wrap your head around this very simple, stupid plot, then you don't deserve to talk shit.
It was ranch, not mayo. Otherwise, yes.
